With the temperatures supposed to be in the mid 60s this weekend I'm getting prepared to finish painting the cab! I sent a text to the guy at the machine shop who is rebuilding the Ole flathead. Ask him how he was coming along that I'm getting close to getting ready to install it and he sent me these pics! Getting closer To bringing this Oldboy back to life wish my grandfather was here to see it!

Looks great but have to ask, did they not hot tank the block? Maybe you asked them not to, I just though most shops clean the block first.

Block looks hot tanked to me! Looks just like every hot tanked block I have ever seen, hot tanking does not remove rust if that is what you are referring to.

In many areas, the ole 'Hot Tanks' that used to be in place - are long gone. Due to government rules/regulations, just can't run that caustic stuff anymore.

A lot of shops have 'baking/blasting' operations and/or high-pressure washing solutions . . . or both.

Looks like you found a good flathead machine shop. The BFH is shown in the first snap shot.
Truck should be back working on the farm by springtime.
