Help with an F6 transmission identification

Just bought a running 8ba out of an F6 cabover farm truck. For some reason the guy was adamant on me taking the transmission with it so i decided maybe i can sell it and recoup some money (just need to find out what it is first).

Heres a picture of it attached to the motor. The seller said it was synchronized (he drove the truck around his farm before taking it apart) and it's equipped with a PTO.

My question to you guys is where/how will i be able to identify this thing before i sell it in order to be accurate in its description? Are there some numbers i can poke around for? Any info is appreciated

Thanks you

That is a T9 spur gear non synchronized 4 speed. The easiest way to tell is the rear transmission mounting foot. The T9 is turned toward the rear of the truck and the T98 foot is toward the front because the T98 is longer. The T9 has very little value, the half bell on the front of the transmission is about the only part worth saving.

Clean the outside of the case and post pictures of the markings. That way someone can most likely tell you what you have.

I don't have all the information you ask for, but I can tell you what will sell easily. There is a removable bell on the transmission itself, this is the part with the clutch throw out fork. Look on ebay there is usually one on there. This unbolts from the transmission and sells very good on ebay because it is used to adapt a S-10 five speed to a flathead. Don't confuse this with the bell housing that bolts to the engine, you will need that to bolt up a 1939 style transmission to your flathead engine, if those are your plans.
I have heard that the 1952 big truck 4 spd was a better transmission than the 48-51, I have never had any luck selling the big truck 4 spd, but I'm sure someone somewhere needs one.

That is the same T9 I had in my 52 F3. They are almost bullet proof but, no fun to drive. I swapped in a T98 for the synchronized shifting.

The "Hogs Head" or front half is desirable to guys doing the T5 swap as has been mentioned. There are always guys looking for the PTO so that may be good for a few bucks or trading material.

My plans exactly. I have a 39 trans as as well as a side shift that i plan on using if the gears in the 39 are no good. Good to hear that i can use the bell housing but sell the part after that.

Ill clean it up to sell but thank you everyone for the info!

not a sellers market for T9s. More often than not they are recycled into turdotas, crapsuns, and hundoos.
