1935 and 36 ford grill. Will they interchange?

I realize the 36 trucks went to a bigger radiator over a 35. I've read that a 35 grill will work on a 36? Is this actually possible ?

farmboy...I have not personally tried it, but the hood tops are the same, the inner fender panels are the same, and the hood sides, although different, appear to be the same dimensions. The inner grill panels are not the same and the 35 does not have the under grill pan that was on the 36. The main question in my mind would be the location of the radiator cap

I heard that they are different. The '36 is deeper front to back than the '35. Someone with the Green Bible could look up the part # to see if they match.

The 1935 and 1936 Commercial Grilles are different. Here is a comparison picture of a 1935 (unpainted) and a 1936 (in Grey Primer). Notice that the 1936 Grilles are much deeper front to back compared to the 1935 Grilles.

Thanks guys... Yeah I've understood that the 36 is 2 inches deeper I believe. I have a 36 radiator found so figured i'd need to go with the 36 grill, but read where someone thought the 35 would work. I'm probably gonna try to straighten up my old one, but might get another one if it's straight and the right deal. thanks again.

I'd be fixing the original grille from your truck because it's the original
But i'm pretty particular about that sort of thing

Amen brother. Probably what in gonna do! The bottom portion will have to be re fabricated. And hope can save the grill bars. There bent in pretty bad.

The grill bars aren't too bad if you make a thin bit of steel the same length as the bars and put the grill over it and tap slowly. It just takes time.
