New aftermarket carbs

Anyone have experience with the 9super7 carbs available from Speedway? At $299 they seem like a bargain. Also, anyone seen or tried the new 94s from Edelbrock? There is so little info available from Edelbrock you'd think the carbs are a government secret. Wikileaks, where are you when we need you?

I have neither seen nor heard any positives about Speedway carbs. Cheap is as cheap does I suppose.

I also get the feeling this is going to be one of those regularly recuring threads.

I have seen them while at Speedway Motors ,they look nice .Wish Speedy would sent me 2 for Christmas .I have a manifold I purchased from Speedway a few years back ,Got one perfect 97 I'm running now .If he sends me 2 ,I would install them and then report back to you guys on their performace .If you ever get a chance ,visit Bill's museum. It's super nice.

heres a test on them (you have to open the document)

I note that the author is a respected rebuilder and purveyor of "genuine" Stromberg 97 carbs. I'm not saying that would bias his opinion of the Speedway 9 Super 7, but can anyone point to test results or articles by someone who wouldn't have a vested interest? The article cited is more of a critique about the "non-authenticity" of the Speedway carb than an objective test of it's performance.

Bill,
2 customers had me build 2x2 setups...they both supplied
Speedway '97's' so that's what I used...that was early this past
summer. Aside from some rejetting they worked well. I kept in close
contact with these guys and they stayed happy.
I'm partial to the genuine item of course.
The 97's from the UK are of course ,at this point, flawless
thanks to Uncle Max!

I have a set on my 40 and had only one problem to deal with but it was that the gas was boiling after I shut it down.Built some pholic spacer for both and that solved the problem during the hot Ga summer.Had 2 Holley's never could keep power valves in them.
