auto-lite heater

went to Hershey this year for the first time. All I can say is "it's impressive!" and that is in all aspects.

While there I bought an Auto-lite Manifold heater. the cover is going to need to be cleaned up and painted. Looking at the cover it looks like it may have been black at one time. Would that have been correct for the time? Not sure I want it aluminum silver. was thinking I could paint with POR15, manifold paint, cast blast or black.

Looking for pics or guidance.
