Water temp gauge

I recently purchased a temperature gauge from MAC and was looking for any tips. . .hints on successfully installing it in my 1930 Model A. Any inputs would be greatly appreciated.

Lots of ways people mount them.
Personally, I like it under the dash.
Wherever you place it, you'll be happy you have it.

Just one thing...post a pic, we'd all love to see it.

Keith, I lke your gage better than the one I got. Where did you get yours or what brand is it? I didn't see anything on the gage itself.

If you scroll down to posting entitled 'Installing a mechanical temperature gauge" dated 9/9/2015, you'll find threads related directly to the subject. Good luck.

Here's mine:

Carl:
I see you have the traffic light prism mounted, did you have to drill a hole for that?

I had one of the cheap suction cup ones, fell off, I had the windshield opened, never did find it, I think it got ran over. It was only a fin so I'm not much worried about it.

I used one of the existing screws in the windshield frame and a small "L" bracket.

I like the SW gauges for that old school look. I also like the temp scale. I special ordered this one from NAPA.

Large PVC pipe caps make neat gauge mounts. You can secure it with a screw, from the inside.
Saw one, made from a pop top Pork & Beans can, the little ridges on the side look tricky, when painted GLOSS BLACK.
