Just acquired a 1928 Sport Coupe but it has no windshield. or rear glass for that matter. My question is what windshields interchange with a '28 Sport Coupe. Looking in the brattons catalog, I would assume that Tudor, Coupe, Fordor and Pickup all interchange but I dont want to buy the wrong one. Thanks for any and all help. Chris

Yes, all of the 28/29 Closed Car windshield frames are basically the same however be careful in whose frame you purchase as there are a couple of different manufacturers. Is there a reason why you do not want to restore an original one??

Chris,
There is a slight difference between 1928 and 1929 windshield frames. If you are purest, you will probably want to buy the right style, if not you can use either a 28 or 29 frame. Note: 28/29 frames are not interchangeable. A 30/31 swing arm bracket on a frame will not work correctly on a 28/29. The 1928 frames that used electric wipers that had an offset wiper blade shaft. One of the large wiper holes was to the side and not centered. 1929 frames has the large wiper blade holes in the center of the three larger holes equally spaced. The bottom part of the windshield frames are the same for both 1928 and 1929 windshield frames. I have some pictures of the different styles if you would like to see the, Just PM me for the information. I have a 28 special coupe and when I was looking for a windshield frame (not rusted out on the bottom like mine was) I discovered the differences. Marco made up a nice picture of the frames I saved on my computer.

The 1928 60A and 1929 60B , both closed (blindback) Fordor sedans, have a windshield frame that is smaller than the other closed cars and will not interchange with your Coupe. Gar Williams

I have no problem restoring an original. I was looking in bratton's just to see if I could figure out what would fit on my own. I failed :(. But, thanks to you guys, I now know what to use. Thanks for your help everyone. Now, if you know who has one for sale for cheap, let me know.
