28/29 Coupe Body Block Questions

My questions are regarding the front block. Does it slide in through the subframe extension? If so, where does the rubber go? Between the block and the subrail extension or between subrail extension and and the frame welting?

I have attached some pics of the area.

Yes, the odd shaped wood block slides into the "tunnel" in the cowl. I have seen some wood block holes that do NOT line up with the cowl holes and have to be tweaked. The rubber goes UNDER the cowl, not where the wood block is. It is fair obvious that the rubber wont fit where the wood goes, in fact it is sometime difficult to even get the wood block all the way inside the "tunnel".

To add to what Rusty is saying, the rubber pad, which is about the same size as the long body block is tacked to the rear bottom of the body block and then lays forward below the steel cowl floor piece to line up with the holes in the cowl flooring and body block.

Thanks Rusty!

This car has never been together since I've had it, so although some things seem obvious, I haven't seen it assembled so I don't know.

Thanks Gary!

That further clarifies this for me. I probably wold have come back with that question later on.

Are you saying that it goes under the sub-rail extension?
