What is the car worth?

All,
I have a 1930 Model A coupe that I'm thinking of selling but I'm not sure what it's worth. The motor turns over, good trans, running boards have perforated rust but the rest of the body is in great shape, roof (rubber?) shot, no upholstery, good glass. Has 2 side lights, rumble seat and luggage rack.

What are your thoughts on a price range?
Location is northern VA.

Thanks
Pete

Why would you sell it?
Fix it, drive it.
You'll not be able to replace it for the price you sell it for.

Mitch: I don't have a good battery so I pulled the plugs, put in gear and pushed. Just wanted to make sure the engine was not locked.

Burner31: I don't think I want to put the $s or the time into the project. Assuming I'd remove the body, space is tight as well.

I may keep it, just depends.

Hi Remdev,

In my opinion, it will take less that two years; however, further down the road, be prepared to hear yourself thinking and saying to yourself out loud:

"Now that I look back, this ridiculous little $4,000.00 for this Model A paid for:

A. Toilet tissue, Kleenex, dishwashing soap, paper plates, coffee filters; and,

B. Extra socks that I never wore, a new vacuum cleaner, the expensive umbrella I forgot and left at the Post Office; and,

C. Extra Fries at McDonald's and Wendy's that caused me to gain weight and pay dearly to upsize my entire clothes closet; and,

D. Not to mention the high blood pressure medication I now buy because of weight gain coupled with my knee replacement for both knees."

E. Even your beautiful dog will miss it.

Any other considerate regrets Model A owners may want to add as to why not to sell such a treasure that can keep one active and in much better physical shape?

not running you have to assume it needs an engine //possibly other powertrain work....
being able to road test it and feel the rest of the car means alot....
if the motor runs good and the car road tests decent you can squeeze 6500 range..
as shown not running 2500-4k

Per reply #8, if one looks closely, no doubt this beautiful dog is an outstanding "Blue Collar" worker, honorably earning his keep.

Difficult to tell exactly what this dog is thinking, but one (1) guess is:

This dog is hoping to get rewarded and treated to a beautiful scenic Model A ride while sitting in the Coupe's Rumble Seat ..... dogs adore Model A's.

Get it running. Worth considerably more. Not hard either.

I don't know your circumstances but reckon I'd surely regret selling that nice looking A. If it was mine I'd do what was necessary to drive it safely and reliably as it is, and enjoy the patina and the history that it represents!

 Wowwww these prices are making me feel good about my recent purchase that was only $500 for a complete and run-able car!

X2 What Hoogah says.
You guys don't put much value on these cars. I'd love to be over there for the As that are available cheap. The trouble is getting it back here. Big $$$ - more than the car is worth unless it is a good one.:eek:

Hey DJ S:

What to double your money?
Just kidding, love hearing when people get great deals...good job.
But if you did...PM me :)

I think without an interior, figure the motor needs a complete go through, the ******, well that's anyones guess, clutch...who knows, complete brake job, wiring...this...that...and the others.
And let's not forget the surprises that always pop up.
Lot of work>lots of time>lots of parts>lots of money=lots of fun.
But if you decide to sell it make sure it not to a "hot rod'r" or worse, someone who wants to make a "rat rod". (A crime against humanity)
I'd buy it just to save it from one of them "butchers" PM me if that's the case...seriously
