12 volt battery that looks original

Hello,
I'm having my 1929 blindback delivered and will be here thursday. I want to convert it to a 12 volt system but want it to look original. Any good 12 volt clones out there? Thanks.

Since the reason for changing to 12 volts will be seen long before the battery is, I guess I don't see the reason to care about a 12 volt battery that looks like an original 6 volt FORD battery. Air conditioning is the only reason I can see to change to 12 volts. I think anything else can run on 6 volts or by use of a 6 to 12 inverter.

I suppose you could hide a 12V AGM, like the Odyssey 680 or 1200 shown on This Page into the case if you cut out the two cell dividers and carefully reconstructed the three-cell tar top, but other clues as to the deception will still exist if the car is judged. You will no longer have the ribbed original 6V headlamps, unless you want to rewire them in series in some hidden way. Then you also either have to use a different coil or hide the ballast resistor. If you are not setting it up for judging, anybody sticking their head under your car to whine about what YOUR battery looks like probably has their head close to where it belongs.

Wonder if it's possible to build a 12V battery in a Ford Script box?

The group one is already a small battery, to take into account the thickness of the original case, it would have to be real small and low output.

The terminals on top are also staggered on the 6 volt and on the same side on the 12 volt so even if you made it work, all the time and expense would be for nothing since the terminals would give it away and points lost.
