wig wag light

Mine has a vaccum motor just like the windshield wiper motor. It also has a long rubber vaccum hose and vaccum switch that connects to the brake pedal.

I think some wig wags may have an electric motor.

Tom is right. I have 2: one vacuum and the other electric. Neato. Some day I hope to figure out how to fix them and install them.

Here are three photos of the inside of my electric Wig-Wag.

There are two solenoids that make it swing back and forth. The little wire in the center of the mechanism also swings back and forth to make contact with the slanted plate where the power is applied.

I saw an electric one like Brads' about five years ago at a local antique shop; at the time I though $35 was too much, so I left it there....

Next time I stopped -in, it was gone... haven't seen another... sorry I waited.

I'm kind of surprised no one has reproduced these....

I have one that I mounted in the back window of my pickup and hooked to the brake light switch. You know like the modern brake light in the rear window. The wife didn't like the click click click. She would actually reach around and stop it. Have to admit in the cab right by your ear it was a little annoying especially at a long stop light on a hill. Finally took it out. They are fun. May have to put it back and surprise here.
