1950 Custom u-joint

Didn't come up with anything on a search. Got a rumble in the driveline on this '50 Custom Tudor, and the u joints were squeaking a bit. U-joints felt loose so I changed 'em but was surprised to find the rear joint had a cap I've never seen before. Anyone know where to get this part?

I swapped out everything but the caps which I re used. Still got the rumble but the u joints quit squeaking.

Cups are part of the cap. Of course as soon as I posted this I found Moog #508 which looks like an exact replacement.

Something about this doesn't look right. What are the washers seating on?
Normally there are no washers but a locking plate with two holes and tabs that are bent up against bolt head to secure.

That's an ugly mess under there, get the right stuff,,!

Fits much better without the washers. I'll order the correct replacement tomorrow, including new locking plates. I'm sure this car had its original u-joints. It hasn't hit 52,000 miles yet.

Something just doesn't look right with that rear end. Was it swapped out at some time. The u=joint on my 50 attaches to the rear end yoke with U bolts not bearing caps.

The bolt/flange type shown in the 1st post is correct for '50.
