Found this cleaning out...

Hi .

I'm a new member from Canada, just out side of Toronto in Pickering. I come form a family of Ford fans, my dad and his dad owned nothing but Fords since I can remember. Anyway, my brother and I are in the process of cleaning out the family garage, and I came across this, (see pictures) in a cupboard of the garage. I know that it's a Ford 2 barrel Holly carb for a FOMOCO product from 1949 thru 53, but the packaging is something I've never seen before. i've seen cardboard boxes but not cardboard cylinder containers. This has never been opened and is a small time capsule from a better time. Can anyone let me know if they have seen this type of packaging before. Thanks in advance.

Douglas.

No picture here,,,but if it is a gray container with maroon lettering I remember seeing them,,,'50's-'60's in the states.

NO pics, but what you're describing is a can that you pulled a string to open it to get the contents out. Would be a shame to open. A time capsule indeed! What is the part number on the package? I'm curious!!

Sorry, I can't get the pictures to load. I'll try later, but thanks for the comments. Part number is EAB - 9510 - F. The container is white with maroon writing and black metal top and bottom.

I've got come old cans like that, mostly electrical parts like relays and such. Drives me crazy debating whether to open them.

I don't think I'd open it either. If Ya did the seals would need to be replaced and then. Well it's just another carb.

Neat stuff!
