Brewster Green help purty please

My paint guy is using PPG Deltron base coat/clear coat.
The number that came up for my Brewster Green was mixed and applied and is WAY to dark. It looks more like British Racing Green, if you are familiar with that shade. Perhaps I am after Medium Brewster Green? Fortunately this is just the first coat and it was just a quart. Does anybody have the correct code for this color to get it right for the finale? Thanks fellers.

It is my understanding that there are several shades of Brewster Green. I have sprayed two cars Brewster Green Light as supplied by PPG. I have checked the paint cans for the numbers and unfortunately they are covered with paint. The PPG library supplied the numbers to me in both Acrylic Lacquer and Concept. I'll attach pictures of both cars. The Coupe in lacquer came out lighter than the Town Sedan in Concept. Gar Williams

Checking TCP Global's web site http://www.tcpglobal.com/aclchip.aspx?image=1934-ford-pg01.jpg came up with IM numbers for two Brewster Greens. Brewster Green Light is IM-1247 and Brewster Green Medium is IM-328. Your painter should be able to run with those numbers. If not, I do recommend TCP Global as a supplier. Please double check the numbers since I may have made a transcription error.

Logic seems to indicate that there may be a third Brewster Green. If there is a light and a medium, there must be a Brewster Green (regular). Hope this helps. Gar Williams

This is the color the I mostly see on pick-ups. Not my truck...just happened to have this photo. But I sure wish it WAS my truck! Love those '28-'29 pick-ups.

Thanks for everybodys input. I took a photo of a '31 Town Sedan at the MARC National Tour a couple of years ago that I was told was Brewster. I think now that it is most likely Light Brewster, but as somebody said, there are many versions. Sorry, I don't know how to scan that photo onto this site. I am now fairly sure my current shade is indeed regular Brewster, but much darker than I anticipated. I will endeavor to get that Town Sedan pic on here, utilizing my 7 year old nephew who has forgotten more about computers than I will ever learn.

I'm not sure if this will help, but here's one version of Brewster green.
You'd think they must have researched this one fairly well, as I took the pics at the 2004 mafca convention and the car is ready for blue ribbon judging.
To the best of my knowledge, and from looking at the colour chips, I'm thinking Brewster should be Darker if anything. I like it darker personaly... as there's plenty enough froggy green Model A's out there already and far too much confusion.:D
If you stir the paint well and dry a sample on dark paper, that sample MUST match when you lay it directly atop the colour chip in a mafca paint & finish guide.... otherwise someone screwed up.
Paint manufacturers may call it light, medium or dark, or can even offer "variations" as modern car formulas do....but at the end of the day (in my opinion) they're just trying to offer matches to all the miss-tinted paint jobs out there.
Bottom line for my Model A is it should match the colour chip very closely on a clear bright day.

PS ... sometime after taking these pictures it occured to me that US dollar bills come in a wide spectum of shades & tints, so it's hardly a good benchmark for colour. I even got a pink bill once:confused:
