I have a very rusty 29 pickup and would like advice on who to get sheet metal repair panels from. I need a set of sub rails, lower door inner and outer (up to the beltline on the outer) and cowl lowers.
Thanks for the help

Don,t buy howells rear 1/4,s they are made incorrect #/4" too wide, Only buy from a dealer that backs up product, Its a raining in NZ

Find a dealer for the new pick-up bodies, ...or find a restoration shop that has the patterns and capability to accurately fabricate what you need.

Thanks, I have the ability to make all the parts myself but if they are available at a reasonable price and fit why reinvent the wheel. Jim Ford

The "...and fit" question is the kicker. If you have the capability to 'reinvent that wheel', you will be better off doing so IMHO.

If we started a thread and asked for everyone that bought sheetmetal from a vendor and had it fit right out of the box to make a post, it would be one of the shortest or even the shortest thread on the forum.

I know about that! Sometimes I wonder if the manufacturer even knows what the car looks like that they are making parts for. I make a lot of patch panels from scratch rather than buy them for the fit reason. Jim ford

Hi i have found that it depend whos doing the body work. Some guys like to fabricate their own metal for a perfect first shot, and some do not mind futzing around with premade suff. latecomer
