i placed a order well before xmas , but still no reply , how long does usa close down for over xmas

If you placed an order and never received an order confirmation it's possible that they never received your order. Contact them on 1/5 starting 8 am. US 'Eastern standard time.

The USA doesn't close down for Christmas.
Many places will be closed Christmas day and New Years Day, and also most will be very slow or only do a half day the day before each holiday.

Some large corporations have chosen this year to give the day off after the holiday, realizing work will be very slow that day.

Some employees take davantage of the scheduled days off and also use a few vacation days and end up taking off for an entire week or two, but they only have to use up 4-6 vacation days to do so.

But the business itself is still open. I would bet Macs never got your order.

If you ordered via on-line you should have received a order conformation from them thru your e-mail.
Also if you can. Check your bank acct or credit card to see if the money has been taken out.

Torchie.

I think they are just slowed down due to the holidays, I placed an order Friday and have not received an email confirmation yet. Usually get that the next day.

The following is an unsolicited snarky comment:
Man, if Macs is so high on shipping within the USA, I can't imagine what you guys down under have to pay them for shipping.

I placed an order for some hood hinge bolts the day after Christmas and I got them this past Tuesday. I think they didn't get your order.

Unless Mac's is adding their own fee to the actual shipping cost, I thought it was the shipper not the seller that set shipping costs.
Nope, Macs told me when I complained about the shipping costs that they charge a percentage of the invoice total. So they burn you for small or expensive things. Then on big or heavy stuff they charge the actual shipping if its more. Its a racket if you make more on your shipping than on the items purchased........rant over. I am through with them.

Have to keep that in mind, it's sorta like the shipping and handling charge scheme.

Hi there, Macs will always confirm the order and international shipping cost for your approval before they ship the item. If you have already done that then shipping time could be up to three weeks to Australia. This is my experience with them anyway. Regards, Kevin.

I live in California, it takes them 21-22 days to get stuff shipped to me!....I try not to deal with them because of this.....good luck,.....Matt in Alameda

Just a question here. Why not use a dealer on the west coast of the USA? I'm sure your shipping cost and shipping time will be less as you just remove 3000 miles. C&G come to mind as does Sacramento Vintage.

WBC
C&G now charges a percentage of the total.
They are nice people to deal with, and ship fast.

I live in Northern California and whenever I order anything from them it is here in 5-7 days. I have never had a problem always fast. Maybe the items you ordered were on backorder?

Try another supplier. I've had excellent results from Joe's Antique Auto, C&G, and Red's Headers and I'm sure their are others that provide good customer service and fair shipping costs as well. JMO.

I myself am not to happy paying $8.99 for a small packet of trim screws. I will try other shops in Ca. that were mentioned here. Thanks
