I am working on a 34 pickup and I want to run a 32 passenger car hood. I have a nice 32 passenger grille and shell. Anyone ever done this and how well do they fit the truck cowl. Any major rework required? Any and all help will be appreciated.

Thanks
Mick

The 32 hood will fit the 34 truck cowl just fine...as it is the same press as a 32 truck cowl (just different firewall).

Your 34 Rad is different, so you would have to change the rad and the grill, spacing front to back might need to be played with

I put 33 hood sides on a 32 truck by cutting and welding the front edge

The wheel bases of the vehicles differ with the 34 having a longer wheel base and an extended nose over a 32, while the cowl curve is similar the lengths of the hoods are not the same. The 34 radiators mount in front of the cross member, the 32 radiator mounts on top of the cross member. If you are using an original style 34 radiator and installing a 32 shell there will be a big gap between the 32 hood sides and the radiator shell, the 34 grille shell is deeper and the 34 hood sides are longer to make up the difference. If you mount a 32 radiator on the 34 cross member you will have to make mount pads and check the height positioning. To map your idea before doing a lot of work the lower bead of the 32 hood measures around 32 11/16" long vs the 34 at 33 15/16".
