Just wanted to say hi. I've stopped by here now and then Googling different things relating to early V8 Fords and 42-47 trucks especially. I've narrowed my collection down to just one, a 46 1/2 pickup, which I have owned since October 21st, 1995. Its been a long term project truck that has sat time as life and moving kept me from really getting it done. Hopefully I'll have her back in the road soon.

Welcome, lots of knowledge to be had on this site! Good luck with your project! Let's see some pics, when you get a chance of what your building.

I know the name, and the So Cal place...Pretty sure we have talked, seen each other way back in the day at/on FTE.

Welcome to the Barn!

Its very possible. I am over on FTE, been there 13 years now, same username.

Ya,,,was gonna say Gary, but wasn't for sure...3Mike6 there...but the forum got too slow...heck...you're a wealth of knowledge here Gary...you know these trucks well!

Ah, yes, 3Mike6, I do remember the user name now. Thank you, Mike. There is always something new to learn. I've been looking into some stampings on the firewall of my truck, which led me here.

These guys will tel, ya Gary, and again, welcome to the Barn!...and please share whta you know...hey...don't be hesitant!

Welcome, nice place this here barn.
Your into the best years of pickups as far as I'm concerned, I have a 42. Also the least amount of writing on these years. Good knowledge here, if Mike says your wealth of knowledge, that makes me happy.
Re the stampings on the firewall, you talking about the numbers stamped directly on the firewall? I'd love to know about these too, not found out yet what they meen.
Martin.

Those are the ones. I hear some say it's a date code and plant info. I have been collecting every brochure, ad, literature for these forgotten trucks for the last 15 years. Even have a big silk banner that hung in a dealership announcing the new '42 trucks.

Hello Mike, on mine the numbers are central above the lip that rubs across the firewall above the fuel pump stand.
Martin.

Welcome to the barn, hope you enjoy the friendly people and wealth of shared knowledge.
Merry Christmas
Mark
