Zenith throttle shaft bushings

Anyone ever install throttle shaft bushings in a Zenith carb? I need to do mine and am a little hesitant to just start drilling away. Is there a proper technique?
 
Well, in the "perfect world" you need to have a fixture where you can clamp the mounting flange of the upper housing to your mill/drill press where you can drill through both sides on the same plane. Otherwise you find there is a great chance for throttle shaft to bind.
 
Go to the Orange County web site at www.ocmafc.org. Click on "tech Articles" in the menu on the left. There is a tutorial with photos and detailed instruction using a drill press starting on page 8. It is a large adobe file. It can be downloaded and printed out and is free for anyone to use.
