Y Block Identification

I am getting ready to order rings and bearings for my Y block rebuild and I would like to have confirmation from some engine guys as to what I have here.

Head casting numbers ECL 6090 and ECL 6090A These are from a 55 272 from based on information from a previous posting on this site.

Engine Block number EDB 6016E
I believe this is a 58 or a 59 - 292.

Pistons have BC 40 stamped on top of them

My cylinder chambers are 3.795 in. in diameter.

I also have a rubber rear oil seal instead of a rope seal.

Based on this, I believe I have a 58 or 59 - 292 engine block that has been bored out .0040.

Can someone out there confirm my findings??

Thanks!!!

292 stock bore was 3.750 so .040 would make it 3.790, the 292 engine was used from 1956 to 1962, and maybe in 1963, i do know it was not used in 1964 autos, maybe in trucks, main seal was a rope seal, yours may have been upgraded to the newer rubber seal, email me and i will send you a url where you can get most of the info on ford y blocks billyray38@comcast.net
