which way is which for dome light

Couple years back I put new wiring into my 1954 ford customline dome light. I didn't pay attention when I removed the dome light as to what was the front and the back of the light. Does the large slope angle of the lens face toward the front or to the back of the car?
 
The thicker side of the lens goes to rear of the car as does the side of the chrome bezel which has the switch.
 
You had a 50% chance of getting it right. I operate on the same law of nature. If there's only 2 ways it can go, I'll choose the wrong way first.
