Hello everyone Im new on this forum and looking for some help. I just bought a 56 f100 planning on a full restore. I was looking for the Vin # and there is no plate in the glove box and seen posted some where that the Vin should be stamped in the top of the frame rails. I currently have the front clip off the truck and in the process of taking the cad and bed off. I checked the top of the frame rails from the front of the cab to the front end of the frame and the only numbers I found were on the radiator cross member and these numbers were
TAAA
5020A
MC
They are stamped in that order I was wondering if anyone had a better idea what these numbers are and where I may be able to locate the Vin# maybe a better location on the frame. Im not sure if the Vin would be stamped on the side or under side of the frame.

Thanks
Brad

Thanks found it was covered by undercoating. Thought i would be able to see it but they didn't stamp it that deep so I couldn't see it with the undercoating on there.

Maybe try paint remover or " OOPS " multi purpose remover. Supposed to remove paint, tar, glue, gum etc. Try using a tooth brush after you let it set for awhile. Pat
