TOOK THE 55 OUT FOR A RIDE TODAY HAD A/C ON DRIVING ALONG:D IT SEAMS LIKE IT WAS STARVING FOR FUEL AT AROUND 2000 RPM HAD TO RAISE IDLE TO KEEP UP WITH A/C AT LIGHTS I HAVE A 4106 EDELBROCK COULD CHANGING THE IDLE HAVE CHANGED THE SETTINGS ON THE CARB

i dought it, idle has nothing to do with the amount of fuel going thru the jets, i would look for an air leak or loose fitting on the fuel line, maybe a weak fuel pump or a kink
in the line ,you need at least 2 1/2# of pressure at the carb, or even a plugged fuel filter

The EDELBROCK and Carter AFB's run best with fuel pressure at 5-5.5 psi,If you running A/C it would be best to set the idle speed with the A/C running. If your car sat for a while before you got it on the road and you did not replace the OEM fuel lines you could have gunk in the lines, try this, run a can of Berryman Chem-Tool in the gas tank for at least 150 miles then replace the filter. My Ford had sat 3 1/2 years I had the tank boiled out,I unhooked the fuel line up front and plugged it off I then filled the line with Berryman aerosol carb spray and plugged it off and let it sit 48 hours then blew out the line. The crud that came out was unbelieveable! needless to say the lines got replaced.

You have the idle screws set to lean, back them out another 1/2 turn and try that at 2000rpm. When using A/C you should install a idle solenoid hooked to the A/C compressor that bumps up the idle when the A/C is on. Old Chevys of the 70's and 80's used them.
