Starter Armature

Does anyone know what year starter armatures are good for what year starters. In other words, is the same starter armature used from 32 to 53. Thanks. My book only goes to 48.

I believe standard shift 239 and 221 armatures and field coils are the same all the way through. I have never researched the innards of the slightly odd AT starter or the 60.
The regular ones come in two slightly different case versions (length of coverage by the end plate differs) but they use the same copper.

The 4 cylinder engines after 1932 had their own armatures that were different from V8 types. Most V8 & 6 cylinder types are the same with the exception of the ones for the automatic transmissions & V8-60hp.
