Working on my model T Speedster to fix a oil leak. Cant believe how much oil is pumped out of a loose starter cover....
WOW who needs a oil pump? !!!!!:eek::)
 
Removed floor board and cover was very loose. Cleaned it up with brake clean and a rag. Added some lockwashers and tightened all four screws up.
Will adjust the bands tomorrow as i have the cover off etc.......
 
Yes, I can believe the mess it makes. I had a starter come loose once. Threw oil all over. It stands to reason. The tube that oils the front of the engine is right above the starter, and the spinning flywheel is throwing oil at it like crazy.
