Sometimes when I shift from first gear to second I can't get the shifter to let me go into second or down to high. I can start over again and it will work fine for the rest of the day but can return any time. The transmission was completely rebuilt with all new gears, bearings, shaves and parts. The shifter wasn't worked on at this time. I removed the shifter and can only see a small bit of wear on the places where the shift leaver contacts the shifting forks. I have seen alot worse that worked ok. I wonder if the detent parts may be the problem. I have ordered new detent parts and two shift fork shafts to replace the old ones. The gears all seems to slide freely. I hope when I rework the shifter that fixes the problem. I have some more shifters I can use but they don't have as good chrome on the stick. Just wondering if this is a problem that anyone else has encountered?
