Serial number help

New to this and need some help to get started. I’m trying to identify the year of the engine in a Model TT that we have had since the 70s that may be ready to finally get running. I am told it is a 1926 model TT. The number doesn’t seem to fit the year though. Serial number is T 15960.

Post a photo of the back of the engine. The number stamped on the block is not a Ford number so no way to date it. See your posting on the MTFCA site. If there is no number stamped on the frame top, best guess would be between 1918 and 1925. If the hogs head to block has the ears the engine would be 1926-27 but that does not mean the truck is the same date. Over the years many things got changed around.

Thanks for the info. I'll have to take some more photos and try and get to the frame to look. I've read things were routinely swapped.

Another thing to take into consideration, Ford started selling the "C" cab in Jan. 1924 and enclosed cab came later. Yes you could buy the chassis less the cab and bed from 1918 to 1927 but chances are this one would be 1918 to 1923. How tall is the core part of the radiator?
