I have a 1933 Ford cabriolet. Recently, I removed the engine for some major work. After I reinstalled the engine and clutch, the car runs nicely but the clutch chatters badly when I shift into second gear while giving it some gas. If I clutch it with my foot off the gas pedal, it's OK. Shifting into first or third is no problem, maybe a little chatter going into reverse.
Any ideas why the clutch would act differently only in second gear??
