From the New England area. I guy sold a '40 Willys coupe hot rod for 50k in cash to a couple guys from "Australia". After sitting on the cash for a couple weeks, the seller deposited half in his bank account. The money was counterfit. Our man is out 50K & his car. Seller beware. If it's cash, know the seller, or get it in various denominations, and take random samples to the bank to have the bills checked before releasing the car.

If I accept a large amount of $$ from a stranger I meet the buyer at my bank -even if it means staying overnight at a motel.

Here's another one to ponder,,,,,,,,,,,,

A friend of mine, up here in MN, sold a car to a guy from Florida.

He drove the car down there, met the guy at the Miami airport, and
he signed the title and gave the guy his car, along with the signed title
in exchange for a small duffle bag with (he counted it) $58,000 cash in
bigger bills. (this was the pre-arrainged deal he made with the guy)

WHOPPTY DO,,,, DONE DEAL,,Right.............WRONG !!!!!!!!

With his bag of cash, he proceded into the airport to catch
his flight home.
At some point, he was confronted by an officer, with a dog,
and they claimed the dog was sniffing out DRUG MONEY.:eek::eek:

They confiscated all the money, and he was held there, and
interigated for the whole next day befor he was allowed to go home.

To make a LONG SORY short, he has NO PROOF of any persons
name that he sold the car to, and it has never been registered at
any USA licence bureau yet.

He has spent $27,000 so far in attorny fees, and sees no end in sight
as the car can't be found, so he is OUT HIS CAR AND $27,000 so far.

He is also haveing to try to prove that he is Not a Drug Runner.

MAKE SURE YOU DOT ALL THE I'S AND CROSS ALL THE T'S
WHEN YOU SELL OR BUY A CAR,,,or anything worth big bucks. :(

I bought a car in Hawaii a couple of years ago site unseen, only all the pics on ebay. $25k us($30k Australian) Was a tough decision to send so much money overseas on a car I hadn't even seen. I asked for a bank account to do a bank transfer, so at least as the buyer, I had some sort of paper trail if things went pear shaped. Luckily for me I eventually ended up with the car here in Australia, but not for 6 months as there was so many things went wrong along the way. So it can be tough for buyers and sellers. I 've sold cars here at home too, you just can't beat money in the bank. Buyers and sellers beware of the scammers, but you still got to have fun along the way otherwise what's the point?

According to Snopes, NBC and others, a large portion of the large bills in the US are contaminated with cocaine and will test positve. Some estimated up to 90% of large bills are contaminated. The money in your pocket right now more than likely has trace cocaine on it. See the link:

I have the pen and reject the old bills without the strip. Ben's eyes should not move from side to side, FYI, if you go to the bank with a deposit of 5K cash or over you may get a call from ATF, it's called smurfing and is considered the most common way of money laundering. You buy goods with cash and resell them, now you have a receipt and clean cash.
