Rocky mountain brake install question

I am adding new brakes to the touring and have this issue of the brake assembly sitting crooked on the backing plate. I think it is as easy as manipulating the metal arms on the back until it is straight, but wanted to ask here before I start bending stuff.

The extensions that hold the springs, the part the springs mount on should be parallel to the backing plate, yours are not.

It looks as though the top bracket that fits into the slot on the brake band is bent. It should be the same shape as the bottom one. It seems that the top bracket is pulling the brake band inward causing the brake band to be crooked. I think once you straighten the bracket and install the brake drum, you should be OK. John

Wow - were those shipped to you that way ? Obviously bent - and as the other fellows instructed and you assumed correctly, just straighten out to have the band parallel to the backing plate.

Yes, I got them that way. Falling out of the box and somehow not missing any pieces. I was less than impressed with the packaging.
Thank you all for the advise.
