Restoration Qs...28 e-brake handle

I tried to get a photo of one of the two that I have that have been replated and the handle riveted back in place. But the nickle plating reflects the flash too much and you can not see the detail, and if I don't use the flash you can see anything.

I had just used a Dremmel tool and rounded out the end of a drift/pin punch to use as a rivet set. It leaves a nice rounded head just like the original rivet had. I used a piece of carborundum to shape the wheel/stone in the Dremmel so I could get the right recess in the tip of the drift. I have a bunch of these that I have made for different size, small rivets. When I upset the head for the rivet I backed up the other side with a block of aluminum, so I would not risk deforming the head.

Rusty,

Its kind-a-crude, hit once, maybe twice, the hit wasn't square. I say a hand hammer.
The head side also shows a " 1/4 moon ". Knowing you, it will " nice "....just don't
over do it with the hammer.

Ron,

Forgot to mention, the left handle e-brake, has an AL handle.
