Replacement front bench seat 1972 galaxie

[1972 galaxie]

Does anyone know what year Galaxie bench seats are interchangeable? I've heard that '69 through '73 have the same dimensions, but I wonder if there are more...I need a replacement for my '72 and I'm having a rough time finding one. I could even salvage my seat and just get a new cover if I knew that another year galaxie or model ford had a bench with the same dimensions.

If they would fit to 73 the should fit up through 78 Ford and Merc. If you keep the tracks from the bottom of your seat they should bolt up to many of the other years. Ford usually stamped more than 1 set of holes into the seat frames. I once bolted the seats from an 86 Escort to the tracks from my 74 Pinto, holes were already there in the seat pans.
