How to get liquid totally out of engine going into hibernation?
Should new oil be put in newly stored engine?
And, should a stored engine be configured to start up..time/time?

Is this a running or newly rebuilt engine?

If it runs I would make a stand you can run it on from time to time. Kind of fun too.

If it's an engine that will need a rebuild, fill it with oil, cylinders as well.

That's what I would do. Also depends on how long and where your going to store it.

Put the engine on a stand and rotate it to drain all the water out. Not that it is the same, but when I'm done moving for the year, I drain the mover of gas the best I can and then pour straight Marvel Mystery oil in the gas tank. The gas runs out and shortly there after the engine chokes on MMO. In the spring there is no problem starting. The innards are coated with MMO. Clem Clement

Tinker/Clem, THANKS!
Thanks for the ideas. Yeah, I like the 'fun' part..so will run it time/time. It's a complete '49 merc/rebuilt 500 mi. MMO sounds to good to be true..will try it. Now to locate that engine 'stand',eh!! lol
