This is something I've never seen before and wonder if anyone else has tried the same thing?
I was talking to a fellow, who had a rebuilt '52 Merc engine in his '40 ford. I was checking out his strange, convoluted, 2-carburetor carb linkage. (Wish I'd taken a photo)
He told me he made his progressive linkage set-up, with the front carb being the primary and the rear carb was being used with no idle circuit/no idle air adjustment! It only began to open at a pre-set point, like a 4-barrel carb's secondaries.
I have a street-rodded '46 Jeep, with a mildly-built '49 Flathead/with NWC 5-spd. (Bored .125, Winfield S-1 Cam-re-grind copy, dual Holley 94s) It's not completed, yet.
Anyway, I was wondering if any one here ever tried running a progressive 2-barrel set up, like the '40 had?
I have not planned to do that, but I might try it, if it really works well. It would be something for Inquiring Minds, to notice at car shows!
