Guys, some were asking so here are some pics of how my '39 is coming along. Could not do this without all help I've gotten from you all. I think I'm bringing to the Nats no matter how much will be done by this summer. Having more fun than a man should!

Lookin good John, reminds me of my 39 2 dr project from a few years back. Keep the pictures coming. Paul Selfe.

looks great John...did you bend your own front brake line or purchase it prebent?

Shared the pictures of your '39 with Henrietta the '38 Ford pickup. We're both impressed. Henrietta flashed her headlights and honked her horn several times, as she often does when she is impressed with another old Ford.

I was glad to see the picture of the routing of the front brake line. I have been trying to verify that route since I got my '39. Is there a plate that holds the horn that will cover the center section of the line? Does the plate have a groove in it for the line to pass through?

John, I,m pretty much at the same stage of my 39 as you are. Look's good. My wishbone ball support was unsafe and rotted so I'm in the process of rebuilding that out of a 40 donor support. I also wanted to change my ring and pinion to 3.54's then I'll have my rolling chasey back! LOL

Thanks guys for all the input - really appreciate it! I took about 5 hours C-A-R-E-F-U-L-L-Y removing all the original brakelines and gave them to Finelines to duplicate. He now has the patterns for the '39 and I have pre-bent lines. I wish that I had the talent to bend those lines so cleanly! I really love the "factory" look that they provide. Also, I just used mild steel, not stainless and spray painted them with a clear.
No, there is no shield really for the front brake line but as I recall the radiator pretty well covers it up when its installed.
Lamar, nice to hear that Henrietta approves. Maybe at some point they get together; maybe get married and have some little handtrucks!

Sure looks nice!! How much did Finelines charge for the brake lines?

Jerry, because they were looking for that particular pattern they cost me near zero. I think their normal charge is around $125-$150.00? Well worth it since it gets me away from the home-made look that mine would most likely become!

Thanks again for all the positives. When I look back at what I started with, it really makes me feel I'm making progress.
