pressurised cooling

Yes but you need a pressure cap. A 4 lb cap is best for these old Fords. One problem is there are a lot of caps or radiators that are off as far as the distance from the top of the neck down to the seat that is down in the neck. The rubber end of the pressure cap has to go down and hit that bottom seat before the under side of the top of the cap hits the top of the filler neck. When you put the cap on with the locking tabs lined up you should feel the spring pressure of the rubber end hit the bottom and feel an 1/8" of spring loaded motion as you push the cap down. On a lot of radiators a thin washer like gasket sitting on the bottom seat down in the neck will correct the problem. Don't put to thick of a gasket down in there or it will raise the pressure that the cap releases and could cause the radiator to balloon if the pressure gets to high. G.M.
