Possible turn signals lights?

Just picked a pair of these and am trying to decide if I want to use them as turn signals or the four bullet motorcycle lights (1950’s) I have. I was thinking of mounting them either on the rear tire/luggage rack or bumpers. They would be more for the cars behind me than for those in front. Or maybe I can use the bullet lights up front and these in the back. Ideas?

The lights you have were used mostly on trucks and mounted on top of the front fenders. I have an LED third brake light mounted on the inside of the rear windowin my coupe. It works as a 3rd break light and a directional. What I like about this type of light is that it is very visible and bright.

In Germany they had a similar looking direction indicator system, but took it to the next level:

That directional indicator is mounted on a vehicle where both side of it can been seen (from the front and back), typically at the top of the driver's side windshield pillar. Here is a close up of one mounted on a 28'-29 Ford Model A:

When you turn the dash mounted switch to the right, the orange arrow inside lights up and rotates clockwise to make the arrow point to the right and likewise when the switch is turned to the left, the orange arrow lights up and turns anti-clockwise to point to the left. When the switch is in the neutral, middle position, the arrow returns to the up pointing position.

The inside mechanism is pure German precision (and complicated) engineering with a system of solenoids, gears, axles and springs, etc. attached to the rotating disc, with the orange arrow mounted in the center.

So you only need one of these for your car. They are fun to watch rotate when ever the turn-signal switch is turned.
