pop out repair kit?

My pop out just failed, it makes the circuit when it is about half way out but opens when the cylinder reaches the full out position. Is there any help out there for these problems? I tried search but got nowhere.

But probably the spring inside is shorting it out.

What is the year? There are two styles for the original popout, and each style is a bit different to work on.

The early style fits the oval speedometer, and the late style fits the round speedometer instrument panel.

The pop out is in a late '31. The car will start if the cylinder is held in about half way but dies when the cylinder pops all the way out. Thanks

Time to take it out the car and open it up.

On the later style like you have I use a small very sharp chisel and carefully work back the crimp until I can pry the back cover off. Once that's off you should see the problem and it should be easy to work on.

The last one like this I worked on was loaded with graphite, which I cleaned out and only used a light coat of grease on the moving parts.
