I am in need of an original panel on a '30 roadster, the one ABOVE the trunk/rumble lid. My question is...are coupe/roadster panels for this area same? And, anyone have good/bad experience trying to use a repo for this?
I am a 28/29 fellow and don't know much about 30/31 sheetmetal. If at all possible I would try to locate an original panel if at all possible - you know they will fit OK even it it takes a little work to repair the panel. It may be tough to find one, but there are people out there that have spare original sheetmetal parts. I don't know if a 30 coupe and roadster use the same part. I know that 28/29 coupes and roadster use different parts.
The coupe has space behind the seat(package shelf) that cuts into the space on said panel. The roadster panel is therefore wider front to back. It also has holes for bumpers when the top is down.
