Nice Evening for a Drive in Massachusetts

As I write this the temp is down to 27 degrees...my wife and I are just back from an evening ride around our town here in central Massachusetts. Spent the last few days finishing up the turn lights install and then upgrading the wiring for the headlights. Henry's not-so-great engineering for electricity to the parking and headlights has been replaced with bullet connectors. Gee - now all those lights work!

With the thermometer hovering at 30 degrees, we decided that a Christmas lights run was in order. We saw some lovely decorations while putting the A through her paces - what a blast! Lights were solid, turn lights worked fine and we are back inside where it's warm!! I guess that we are close to being done for the year, but touring around in the A is surely fun!

The weather is weird, I talked to my Mom yesterday in Rhode Island , no snow !! YET.. We here in So.Maryland were in the middle of 3-5" coming down @ the same time we were talking ??..

Took a nice drive myself this evening, here in SE CT, after removing a wobbly '50's two-piece crankshaft pulley and installing a new two-piece unit.

It's been in the teen's at night here for a couple of weeks, but the "A" still starts in 1/4 rev.

Happy holidays, everyone.

Hey, Fred. Heard about your Southern Maryland weather from my son, who was headed north from college on an Amtrak train that was 7 hours behind schedule. Cold here, but dry. Still driving the "A."

I lived in Grafton in an old 1830's house about 15 years ago. Nice town common and a great place for Model A's with the old homes around.

Now I'm in the frozen tundra up north and I'm convinced that summer will never arrive !

Marc is right - lots of "scenic byways" to tool around upon. Bet it's a LOT colder in Minnesota than it is here!

Move here was job related, not for the weather. I had lived here before and while the winters are rough, the people and the many things to do in the metro area make for an O.K. time. My heart, though, is still in New England.

New England is a great place for driving old cars. Lots of scenic town commons with old homes/churches. That is , as long as you stay off of the interstates and main roads.

Nice drive is 140 to route 2 out to Western Ma.

Wherever one can find an ice cream shop! I've driven the 140/2 route more than a few times...central Massachusetts and the Berkshire area both offer a lot to the tourer.
