New Fel Pro Head Gasket Failure

Just finished refreshing the motor on the coupe and low and behold after a few minutes I had coolant leaking out of #2 head bolt. I have used the new Fel Pro gasket several times and have never had a failure. Looks like here is the first. I am going to pull the head this weekend and see what failed.

Coolant leaking around a head stud is not necessarily a head gasket failure. If it's not leaking into a cylinder it's not a problem. Leaks around studs usually cure themselves over time.

Larry is right. Often they will stop "weeping" on their own. I have on occasion removed such a stud, cleaned the threads and applied a small amount of red Permatex and reinstalled with no more tears.
