need a couple of suggestions

1. i recently did some work on a friends model a. i put in the complete swing arm kit on his windshield. the problem is the ws frame nut that presses into the ws bracket keeps wanting to pop out. i used vice grips to press the frame nut in all the way. i imagine the chinese precision fit aint up to par on these repop parts. any suggestions on making these parts fit better?

2. i just bought a 31 roadster project i had been wanting. on the top of the doors the is a raised portion where the curtain rods drop in. this raised portion is missing on one door and not in the best shape on the other door. my thought is turning out a shouldered piece on the lathe and braising them to the top of the door. i'm open for any better suggestions.
 
2. I called Brookville and had them stamp out a few on a piece of sheet metal and used them to replace the ones on my 30 Phaeton. That was a few years ago, and after a little pleading, they said send $20 and they would send me some. it should be worth a try.
