Mystery C clip

I have a vacuum wiper unit that has two places for wiper arms to attach. One is attached and has a wide 5/16 C clip holding the arm in place. Everywhere I go including NAPA they only have the narrow C clips and that slips through the hole in the wiper arm. I am sure this unit is not original in the car but it does work and I would like to locate a C clip wide enough to work?? Of course there is not enough room for a washer behind it..........
Anyone ever locate wide C clips??
Thanks
Larry

What you are looking for is called a "wiper arm clip". Special rectangular clip with an elongated hole. Restoration Specialties carries them as well as a number of other parts suppliers.
