How I found my 31Coupe,not how most of you would have, but this was how it started January 1981. I placed an add in the local newspaper ,wanted 30-40 ford, chev , what have you.Well I watched the adds, kept a list ,and my wife and I on Saturday’s drove all over the greater Vancouver area looking at all sorts of cars of different makes. A lot of rust and not many complete cars . After several Saturday’s of checking here and there ,I figured I could gather enough parts to make my own car. I found a nice coupe body at one backyard, doors and bare frame at another and so on. But I was missing many necessary parts still, the local swap meets became my favourite haunts. I found a nice gas tank, hood, and most of the running gear. No engine or ****** yet, I found that most venders did not want to take home the heavy parts that were left over, so managed to load up engines and other pieces very cheaply. Over the next couple of years I found most of the smaller goodies , and soon a friend was painting my coupe parts in his garage paint shop, while another friend was making up the upholstery. By 1985 Bessie was ready to go. In 1986 Vancouver hosted the world’s fair, that was called Expo 86,we were part of the parade, what ah experience. The cars that were in front of us were big Cadillac touring and behind another classic large touring.when we drove past the filming stations the cameras filmed ahead and behind, we were just a blurr when we watched the parade the next day on tv.Not important enough I guess.Hi Don,
Here are your pictures. It seems like you are not getting my messages both directly and through the BARN, but anyway here they are.
