modelakid31@aol.com nonsense email...

First of all, Mike is not the spammer! Apparently his site was hijacked and he has most greatfully appologized to us for this mishap plus he has done all he can on his end to clear the matter up. To some of you, maybe even a personal email. Please do not blame him for this problem.

See Post #9 above and that will take care of the problem...hopefully.

He is a young man and very interested in the restoration of the Model A Ford...Thank God for the Model A Youth in this hobby.

Pluck

I would suspect your computer if you use an email program such as AOL, Thunderbird or Outlook.

My first step would be to download and install Microsoft security essentials if you are running a legal copy of windows. This should find anything that may be on your computer and is by far the best antivirus program I have come across to date..

Best of luck,

Modelakid31,

In addition to scanning everything on your PC and making sure there are no problems on your PC, make sure you change ALL of your passwords for everything that you access online. I once had a similar problem where someone hijacked my bellsouth email account so I understand how frustrating it is to have this happen. For me, changing all of my passwords solved it.

Mike, i think we all realize its not your fault. Any kid tinkering in the model a world is welcome in my book. Just hope you get the problem fixed or find the culprit. Good luck, Mark.

first thing to do is change your email address, then go out on line and type mail washer in the search box, its a free neat program once set up opens a seperate window on your computer that gets all your emails on it with out going to youe computer, you can safely open them there and any spam or viruses wont be put on your computer, that way you can open one and read it if you want, or check it and it will be deleted, the ones you want to keep can then be safely sent to your email , it allso marks all messages that are suspicous as either spam or virus, any way they can be opened in there with out going onto your computer, i use it and have never had a virus get to my computer using it

You guys, let's put this thread to bed. Spam is like junk mail in the mail box, you just ignore it. If you open it and it looks like spam, just delete it and move on.

It's likely his email was 'spoofed' and not really hacked. If that's the case no amount of deleting on his end will stop it. Someone else on another computer sends out the email and spoofs the email address making it look like it came from someone else. It's easy to do and very common.

If the SPAM emails are coming from the modelakid31@aol.com addressthen that will have nothing to do with your website (modelakid.com) which is a different domain. The problem will be with your AOL account, change the password for that one or delete the AOL account.
