Model A Water pump

I am curious if anyone has seen a Model A water pump failure where the housing has snapped by the bottom 2 bolts.

Damage has caused a fan blade to detach and the pump smashing into the radiator.

Not my car, but I have not heard of this before
Any comments would be appreciated

I have not seen this before but I am not surprised. The pump is a thin iron casting.

Water pump casting failure often happens when a fan blade departs. I have seen this several times.

When a 2 bladed fan breaks at speed the out of balance would be quite high and I could easily see the fragile cast iron casting potentially breaking or cracking!!!

What Bob Bidonde said. More than likely it was the fan blade that broke first. The imbalanced vibration stressed the pump casting and caused it to snap afterward.

as soon as i bought my model a, guys were telling me to get rid of my original fan and advised me to get a whole new leakless water pump and new fan.
