Model A jack repairs

I have a model A jack # A-17080-B1 for November 1929 - August 1930. The jack would go up but would not go down without manipulating the inside levers with an icepick or similar tool. I removed the top 3 rivets. On the top lever there is 2 springs. The smaller spring is double looped and only one end is attached. I think it should have a tail (for lack of a better term) to go to the lifting lever. Is their anyone that has parts available to repair these? I have attached pictures.

Thanks

My first call would be to Don Turley in Georgia as he has been a restorer of Model-A Tools for awhile. To my knowledge no one has made any hard-parts (-other than hoses, clamps, leather cups, etc.) for Model-A Tools. My advice would be to inspect each component and actually look for wear points. Take the time to fully understand how your Jack works, and then cycle it through the process to see what is amiss. Your 'problem solving' skills will enjoy the new challenge.

I do not plan on ever using the jack to lift the car. I do like my tools to at least to appear to be operable for display, if possible.
I am very careful about not crawling under cars supported incorrectly. I have several hydraulic floor jacks and many pairs of substantial HD jack stands to use.
