Model A design information

Is there anywhere on the net where one can find Ford's original design specifications for the Model A? I am sure that some here have spent many hours in research, but was that 'net research or was that at Ford archives somewhere?

Often I would like to "just know" how it was originally done. Specifically: at the moment I would like to see what an original April 29 radiator looked like. I have seen the pictures on the Brassworks site, but many pictures else where look quite different, e.g., the shape of the top inlet.

Thanks.

Was afraid of that. Thanks, Brent.

O.k., then the follow-on question: where IS the information found? Are there physical Ford Archives somewhere that a person could visit?

Take your motorhome to Dearborn and visit the Bensen archives. It is not as simple as walking in and asking to see a radiator for a 1929 since there may be a dozen engineer drawings showing different sub-assemblies. Vince & Will are two 'experts' that understand how to maneuver around the microfiche there.

You can contact the Benson Ford Reasearch Center at their website: http://www.thehenryford.org/research/services/remote.aspx
Nice people there and they will send copies of the original drawings or about anything. You will need the part number which you can get from the repo Ford Parts Price List book.

By the way we can all thank MAFFI for their parts index project;

MAFFI'S PARTS INDEX PROJECT

STARTING IN 2000 AND CONCLUDING DURING 2009, OVER 100,000 DRAWINGS HAVE BEEN IDENTIFIED, CATALOGED, AND ENTERED ON THIS INDEX. THE INDEX IS THE SOURCE OF PART NUMBERS AND THE FIRST STEP TO SECURE A COPY OF THE DRAWINGS FROM "THE HENRY FORD".
