Magnet in sump ?

I use magnitic drain plugs as well. I made them by boring a depression in the plug and epoxying a round magnet.

I've done the same. Strong neo magnet and it works great.

I just let the magnet stick to the bottom (outside) of the drain plug.

For many years I have let a magnet sit on every drain plug in every Model A I have.

Thank you, the car was purchased new in Virginia by a young man who then drove it to California. He joind the Navy and became a coreman (doctor) When he got out of the navy he stayed in San Diego where he started his private practice as a doctor using the coupe for his house calls around San Diego's Point Loma area. In 1973 or 1974 he quit driving due to his age then and the family parked it on some property they have east of San Diego where it sat until I purchased it in 2022.

Thats a great story .Mine was parked up in 1976 . Then was stored under cover then in a storage unit until I bought it is 2024 .With the condensation in the unit for all those years I dont think it fared much better.And as you can imagine EVERTHING mechanical is well worn.
