Loose left front shock on 35 frame.

I have a left front shock that is loose on my 35 PU. I need to get in there and tighten the nuts up. I put the shocks on with nothing on the frame, years ago, but now that it is all together I can't remember how I got in there to tighten them.

Obviously I didn't tighten the front bolt and it is causing a lot of racket when I hit a bump. I can't figure it out laying on my back under the truck. Does anyone have a frame that is convenient to take a picture of where I stick my mitt & wrench to get to the front bolt?

Dumb m"asses" need to know. LOL Thanks.

Lawson-

It is "possible" to get at the front shock mounting nut from the top side but it isn't easy. Your best bet is look under the radiator platform and you will see a hole (note where finger is pointing), a short socket with an universal or better yet a "wobble" extension and you can get at it.

My '35 never had a shock on it at any corner. At least that is how I bought it. It rode OK, but perhaps I don't know what I was missing. It also had a later ('51) flathead V8 bolted to the original gearbox with no chatter rods. It never vibrated. Just lucky I guess. Now it's in the garage in pieces and many a day I wish I had never torn it down.

Thanks Tom. I'll give it a shot. Old Henry didn't make these things easy to work on at times did he? lol Oh for shop manuals from Henry.

Happy Thanksgiving

The head on the shock bolt has a flat side that rests up against the shock body and prevents it from turning. One HAS to go at it from the "inside" of the frame. Would that it was so easy.
